Data Center Engineer

Job Summary
Seeking a highly experienced Senior Server & Data Center Infrastructure
Engineer to support and enhance our mission critical hospital systems. This role
requires deep hands-on expertise across server platforms, virtualization, storage,
disaster recovery, monitoring, and enterprise patching. The ideal candidate is a
senior level engineer who thrives in fast paced clinical environments and can
ensure high availability, reliability, and performance across all core
infrastructure services.
Key Responsibilities
Server & Virtualization Engineering
- Manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise Windows Server environments.
- Administer and troubleshoot Citrix environments (Virtual Apps/Desktops,
StoreFront, NetScaler).
• Support virtualization platforms (VMware preferred) including provisioning,
performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
• Lead and maintain Zerto disaster recovery replication, failover testing,
and DR runbooks.
• Ensure RPO/RTO compliance for all critical clinical and business systems.
Storage & Data Center Operations
• Manage SAN/NAS storage platforms, provisioning, zoning, performance
analysis, and capacity planning.
• Support data center operations including rack/stack, cabling standards,
hardware lifecycle, and environmental monitoring.
Database & Application Infrastructure
• Provide operational support for SQL Server environments including
patching, backup/restore, performance troubleshooting, and availability
monitoring.

Monitoring & Alerting
• Administer and optimize SolarWinds alerting, dashboards, and monitoring
templates.
• Build actionable alerts and ensure proactive detection of infrastructure
issues.
Patching & Compliance
• Lead enterprise server patching cycles (Windows, SQL, Citrix, and
supporting infrastructure).
• Ensure compliance with security baselines, vulnerability remediation, and
audit requirements.
Operational Excellence
• Create and maintain detailed SOPs, runbooks, and infrastructure
documentation.
• Collaborate with network, security, cloud, and application teams to
ensure end-to-end system reliability.
• Participate in on call rotation for critical infrastructure support.
Qualifications
• 7–10+ years of experience in enterprise server or data center engineering
roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
Zerto DR replication
o
Citrix (XenApp/XenDesktop, NetScaler)
o
Enterprise storage (SAN/NAS)
o
SQL Server administration
o
SolarWinds monitoring and alerting
o
Server patching at scale (SCCM, Ivanti, or similar)
o
• Deep understanding of virtualization, Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS,
DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Experience supporting 24/7 clinical or high-availability environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Evaluation Criteria
- VMware VCP, Citrix CCE/CCP, Zerto ZCP, or Microsoft certifications.
- Experience with automation (PowerShell, Ansible).
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem).
