RN - MedSurg

Registered Nurse - EICU and Med/Surg

Day shift, consisting of 3 shifts per week, each 12 hours long.

The Registered Nurse position provides quality, professional nursing care to patients, focusing on EICU and Med/Surg cases. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating patient care for a designated group of patients, while adapting to changes in assignments and patient status.

Utilize the nursing process throughout the patient's hospitalization to provide individualized care.

Develop and document patient care plans based on assessments and medical diagnoses.

Provide independent patient care in line with departmental expectations and protocols.

Respond to life-threatening situations in accordance with nursing standards and policies.

Monitor and record changes in patient conditions and notify providers timely of significant incidents.

Acknowledge and verify physician orders through the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Administer medications and IV therapy with a focus on accuracy and minimal errors.

Initiate patient/family education tailored to individual needs prior to discharge.

Delegate and collaborate with other health team members for optimal patient care.

Ensure a safe environment for patients and adhere to Universal Precautions and infection control procedures.

Two-year degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.

Active Wisconsin Registered Nursing license.

BLS certification required or to be obtained within 1 month of hire.

ACLS certification required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire.

PALS certification encouraged.
