This position is in the E&S Baltimore and Partnered Sites supporting the Software Integration and Test organization.As the Mgr. Embedded Software Engineer 1 you are responsible for overseeing and coordinating the people, resources and processes required to deliver software solutions. Additionally, you are responsible for managing people performance, providing excellent staff resources to programs, and the career development of employees. Roles & Responsibilities:Provide technical oversight of design, development, and integration of software componentsEngage with business leaders and customers to understand and drive business executionSupport the team in identifying and addressing impediments to the attainment of goals, including taking action to remove impediments where appropriateDrive sustainable continuous improvement, including by collating and deriving insights from dataGenerate proposal and estimates inputs for new workLead the team in applying the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools using Agile development methodologyGuide the team in compliance with the Internal Software Development Plan (iSDP) and the Agile Development Plan (ADP)Coordinate with other disciplines when needed such as Systems and HardwareCandidates must have strong communication and people leadership skillsSet, track, and measure employee performance expectationsGuide employees regarding career developmentProvide technical and business coaching and mentoringCommunicate direction from the higher-level organization and uphold principles of the organizationThe selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. Secret clearance is required to start. Must be able to obtain a Special Program Access. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance and Program Access for continued employment.Must have atleast 1 years' experience as a Software Engineering/Development Team LeaderPrior experience leading a software development team1 years identifying risks, suggesting mitigation, tracking defects, developing resolutions, and reporting status.Preferred QualificationsPrior experience within an IPT lead role.Prior CAM (Cost Account Management) experience.Working knowledge of Linux or VxWorks operating systemsManagement of budget for technical activitiesExperience with SonarQube and/or KlocWork toolsWorking knowledge of software architecture and open standards in use by the defense industryExperience with GitlabExperience with the Atlassian tool set, Jenkins, and Software Integration & TestExperience generating proposals and estimates inputs for new workPrior software functional management experience (executing performance appraisals, staffing allocations, software process leadership, and career goals development)Primary Level Salary Range: $127,000.00 - $190,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
