Purpose of Position: Under direct supervision, performs scheduled preventive maintenance inspections and procedures, installations and repairs to medical, respiratory, x-ray, sterilization laboratory, dental and various other types of medical equipment in all Corporate facilities and at the Medical Equipment and Instrumentation Control Laboratories; performs related work.

Examples of Typical Tasks:

• Performs preventive maintenance in accordance with prepared forms. Initiates action to resolve difficulties.
• Adjusts, aligns, tests, calibrates and maintains medical equipment to insure maximum and safe use and operating efficiency.
• Performs incoming inspection testing and adjustments to medical equipment, on delivery, for proper and serviceability prior to installation; installs medical equipment as directed.
• Troubleshoots, using schematic diagrams or other drawings, various types of medical equipment and effects repairs if possible.
• Reads blue prints, schematic and wiring diagrams and uses various types of diagnostic test equipment, including oscilloscope, VOM, VTVM, etc.
• Transports medical and testing equipment as directed.
• Maintains system of records and reports.

Work Shifts: 8:00 A.M 4:00 P.M

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School graduation or possession of a High School Equivalency Diploma, including a one-year course in electronic equipment repair, Electronics or Physics, and a minimum of one year's experience in maintenance and repair of electrical equipment; or, 2. An Associate Degree in Electronic, Electro-Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related technology; or, 3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.

Department Preferences:

• Must possess technical skills and knowledge in safety during transport techniques.
• Must possess basic computer skills and strong communication skills.
• Must have strong organizational skills.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Nursing, Therapy, and Unit staff Bi-lingual, preferably in Spanish, is a plus but not required.
