Electrician II (CF)

Job Description and Duties

Individuals who are eligible for Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position.

Under direction of the Supervisor of Building Trades, C.F, the incumbent installs, maintains, inspects, and repairs complex electrical systems and equipment, including circuits, motors, generators, transformers, switchboards, transmission lines, and power-generating equipment. The position leads and instructs incarcerated work crews, enforces safety requirements, and oversees the electrical and electronics shops. Additional responsibilities include planning and scheduling work, reading blueprints and schematics, ordering materials, obtaining vendor quotes, completing requisitions and work records, following departmental policies, submitting administrative requests and time sheets, attending required meetings and training, and performing other related duties.

Candidates new to CDCR/CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, as well as a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
