The Equipment Service Technician is a remote based Customer facing employee, primarily working inside hospitals. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing medical equipment used in surgical procedures, as well as providing installation support on complex mechanical, electromechanical and electronic units. This is STERIS' GI/Endoscopy line of equipment geared to wash, sterilize, and properly dry all types of scopes, and is within our main field service division, Infection Prevention Technologies. Come advance your career with us in this role!Individuals with experience working in HVAC repair, Mechanics, Maintenance, Refrigeration, Boilers, Chillers, Equipment Repair, Diesel and Automotive Repair, Aviation Repair, Plumbing, Electrical, etc. are often successful.This is a safety sensitive position.What You'll Do As An Equipment Service Technician IIDrives customer satisfaction as a first point of contact through pro-active, professional communication and commitment to resolving Customer's issues/problems expediently.Utilize Customer protocols when entering and exiting facilities and abide by all STERIS and Customer Health & Safety protocols and procedures. Fulfill vendor credentialing in accounts as needed.Manages STERIS assets utilizing electronic inventory management platform to maintain inventory, tools, personal protective equipment, vehicle, etc. to prescribed levels.Perform fundamental troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of STERIS and competitive equipment, systems and components.Manages time effectively by prioritizing Customer and business needs and schedules autonomously to complete PM performance, service calls, warranty calls, equipment installations, field upgrade programs and other duties.Perform daily administrative duties using multiple application platforms and technology equipment (laptop, smartphone, related software). This includes, but is not limited to scheduling, effective communication, managing parts trunk stock, daily completion of service reports and activities while on site; Learning new technologies and software applications as they become available to improve productivity.With management support, build relationships with Sales to drive Customer experience and revenue opportunities. Learn to identify sales opportunities in assigned territory, and builds competency to be a trusted advisor, communicate leads to management and sales staff.The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed Or RequiredHigh School Diploma or GED with minimum of 6 years of progressive work experience, including 3 years mechanical/technical directly related experience (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, automotive etc.).Associates degree or related certifications in technical/mechanical area, competitive equipment training or related military experience may be considered towards the technical experience requirement.Successful in achieving EST II training and promotional requirements.Valid driver's license and the ability meet all required background and physical assessment elements to obtain and maintain existing and new vendor credentialing requirements.Customer and team engagement experience.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Basic computer skills (MS windows/email, navigation, mobile app, and ability to data input into a multisystems).Must be able to meet flexible schedules with potential overnights, as well as early/late hours, based on Customer and business needs.Must be able to be compliant with hospital/customer credentialing requirements.What STERIS Offers:We value our employees and are committed to providing a comprehensive benefits package that supports your health, well-being, and financial future.Here is just a brief overview of what we offer:Base Salary + OT + Incentive Compensation ProgramCompany Provided Vehicle + Cell Phone + LaptopHands-on Training ProgramPaid Time Off + 9 Corporate Holidays Per YearExcellent Healthcare, Dental, and Vision BenefitsHealthcare and Dependent Flexible Spending AccountsLong/Short Term Disability Coverage401(k) with a Company MatchParental LeaveTuition Reimbursement ProgramAdditional Add-On Benefits/DiscountsPay range for this opportunity is $64,600 - $83,600. This position is eligible for bonus participation.Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.
