Occupational Therapist - Acute - PRN Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital , Cleveland, OH Shift: Weekend days 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Responsibilities Evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional, cognitive and/or psychosocial deficits that impact daily living activities. Assess patient ability to safely perform independent living skills. Design an individualized plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment. Implement treatment plan using appropriate modalities. Document subjective and objective findings of patient progress. Monitor and modify plan of care as needed. Seek consultation when necessary. Educate patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Assist with patient discharge from therapy services. Provide information regarding adaptive equipment and support programs. Oversee care provided by occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to licensing laws and OT practice standards. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association Current Ohio licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross Preferred Qualifications Experience in a clinical occupational therapy setting Physical Requirements Walk without assistive device and maintain balance while supporting patients. Lift and reach with arms to support patients during treatment. Manual dexterity to palpate muscle tension and monitor patient pulse. Visual acuity to observe patient motor movements and read monitors. Speak and hear at conversational level for instructions and responses.
