This position is located in Portland, OR which boasts huge spans of amazing trees, foliage, landscape, and everywhere you look you can appreciate beautiful greenery! It is known as the most bike-friendly city in America, has a train system that greets you at the airport spanning across the city, and is home to the Portland International Rose Garden, the oldest in the country! As an Accountant, you will:

• Plan and conduct accounting activities and assignments independently, selecting and applying appropriate methods based on available information and guides.
• Serve as technical analyst researching and providing guidance on difficult, unique, or complex accounting issues and new standards (e.g., GAAP, FASB, FASAB, FERC, OMB).
• Provide accounting theory analysis, technical advice, and recommendations to business units, CFO's office, executive management, DOE, OMB, and external entities.
• Write financial reports (balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows) and disclosures, working with external auditors, finance management, and legal counsel to defend them.
• Maintain continuing relationships with internal management, technical staff, DOE, OMB, peer agencies, utility specialists, and other stakeholders on accounting matters.
• Serve as accounting lead coordinating implementations and projects involving cross-agency work teams and external entities.
