Medical Technologist

Assignment Length: 13 Weeks + Possible Extension

Schedule: 5x8 | 40 hours/week

Shift: Day’s

Pay Rate: $2000-$2100/week

Responsibilities:

• Perform general laboratory testing across multiple departments, including hematology, chemistry, coagulation, microbiology, urinalysis, and other clinical laboratory areas.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect, process, and receive blood, urine, fecal, and body fluid specimens from patients of all age groups.
• Evaluate and resolve issues related to specimen collection, processing, and laboratory testing.
• Perform complex laboratory procedures and recognize, investigate, and correct deviations from expected results.
• Analyze quality control data and take appropriate corrective action to maintain accuracy and precision.
• Operate and monitor laboratory instruments and equipment, including reviewing instrument indicators and temperature monitors.
• Respond to inquiries regarding test results, methodology, test specificity/sensitivity, and factors that may affect test results.
• Participate in evaluation and implementation of new laboratory techniques, procedures, and equipment.
• Maintain and revise technical procedures and assist with establishing reference intervals as needed.
• Maintain competency in laboratory procedures, equipment, and technical skills.
• Support laboratory initiatives, policies, and quality standards.
• Strong Epic EMR experience is required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field required. Associate degree accepted for grandfathered personnel.
• Current CLS or MT certification through ASCP or equivalent required.
• New MT graduates must pass the certification examination within 6 months of employment start date .
• Strong hands‑on experience as a Laboratory Generalist with phlebotomy experience .
• Strong Epic EMR experience is mandatory. Do not submit candidates without strong Epic experience.
• Experience with laboratory analyzers such as Abbott Alinity, ACL TOP 350, GeneXpert, Beckman Coulter, TORCH, and Clinitek is preferred but not mandatory.
