Engineering Technician

The Engineering Technician II will support Terracon's large-scale data center construction projects by performing field testing, observation, and inspection of soils, concrete, asphalt, structural fill, and utility installations. This individual will work alongside project teams and contractors to monitor site development activities such as pad preparation, drainage improvements, foundations, backfill, and duct bank construction, while documenting results, communicating findings to project managers, and ensuring all work meets project specifications and safety standards across an active, fast-paced construction environment

Required Skills & Experience
• 1-2 years of relevant construction materials testing experience
• Soil or compaction testing
• Concrete field testing
• Asphalt or aggregate testing
• Nuclear density gauge operation
• Construction observation or inspection
• ACI certification in one of the following:
• Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I
• Concrete Strength Testing Technician
• Radiation Safety and Nuclear Density Gauge certification
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history
• Able to work outdoors around construction activity and heavy equipment
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds


Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• NICET Level II in asphalt, concrete, soils, or geotechnical testing
• ICC certification in soils, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, structural steel, fireproofing, or post-tensioned concrete
• TxDOT or other state-level materials testing certifications
• Drilled pier or foundation observation experience
• Large commercial, industrial, utility, or data center project experience
• Experience completing digital field reports
Experience working directly with project managers or contractors
