Department 02038 GCMG Psychiatry Consult and Liaison: Billingsley - Behavioral Health: Liaison Services Position Overview AtriumHealth Charlotte is looking for an experienced full‑time advanced practice provider (APP) specializing in psychiatry to provide quality mental health services to patients in the Charlotte and surrounding community. This position is occupied by board certified psychiatric nurse practitioners (PMHNP‑BC) and/or physician assistants (PA) who are specifically trained and proficient in the provision of psychiatric services under direct supervision of psychiatrists working for the Atrium Health Psychiatry Service Line. The provider in this position will perform telepsychevaluations and medication management for adult patients throughout the lifespan. The APP is responsible for evaluating, stabilizing, and treating patients with acute and chronic mental health and substance use disorders. This may include, but is not limited to, patients experiencing severe episodes related to depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and withdrawal from drugs and alcohol. Employment Details Full time Hours per week: 40 Schedule Virtual/remote; 7 days on, 7 days off. No call. Weekends and holidays required. Pay Range $59.00 - $95.20 Job Description Virtual practice Full‑time, 7 days on/7 days off schedule Weekends and holidays required; no on‑call duties Teaching opportunities with APP students, residents, and/or APP fellows Eligible for excess shift pay, moonlighting pay, and performance incentive bonuses up to 5% $2,500 for 40 hours of CME Position Qualifications Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program; current license to practice as an NP or PA in North Carolina; current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required; BLS for healthcare providers from AHA required. Nurse practitioners must have a master’s degree or doctorate in nursing practice and a national certification as a psychiatric NP. Physician assistants: certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred; current or pending CAQ certification preferred. +1 year of experience preferred. Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking and interpersonal skills; able to evaluate, assess, and monitor comorbid medical conditions secondary to mental illness in consultation with medical attending.
