What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a new Medical-Surgical and telemetry unit
• Manage patient conditions including sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, PNA, post-op and other acute illnesses
• Monitor and report patient status, administer medications, and perform wound care including JP drains, VACs, and hemodialysis catheters
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members such as hospitalists, RT, PT, OT, and support staff
• Document accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR system
• Float to other Med/Surg units as needed, maintaining flexibility and adaptability
• Pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival
• Comply with unit protocols, including safe patient handling and infection control

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligibility to practice in the state
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in acute care settings, including telemetry
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Skills in wound management, IV therapy, PCA, pain management, and hemodialysis care
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
• Strong patient communication and teamwork skills

Preferred

• Prior experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry units
• Experience with EMR systems like Meditech
