Our client is seeking a skilled and dependable HVAC Service Technician to join their team. The HVAC Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial and/or residential environments.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong technical knowledge, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to providing quality service. This technician should be comfortable working independently while also collaborating with other members of the service team.

This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity, with the potential to transition into a permanent position with our client based on performance, reliability, and overall fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair HVAC systems and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
• Identify electrical, mechanical, and HVAC system issues and determine the appropriate repairs.
• Service and repair air conditioning units, furnaces, heat pumps, rooftop units, package units, split systems, and related equipment.
• Test system components, including compressors, motors, capacitors, contactors, thermostats, relays, and controls.
• Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, leak detection, and charging in accordance with EPA regulations.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
• Use HVAC diagnostic tools, meters, gauges, and other equipment to accurately troubleshoot systems.
• Complete HVAC installations, replacements, repairs, and system upgrades as needed.
• Respond to service calls and provide timely solutions to equipment issues.
• Communicate equipment conditions, repair recommendations, and service requirements to customers and management.
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and applicable HVAC regulations.
• Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service.
• Work collaboratively with other technicians and team members when assistance is required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HVAC service and troubleshooting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and operating principles.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical HVAC issues.
• EPA Section 608 certification preferred, depending on client requirements.
• HVAC certification or applicable license preferred.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Proficiency using HVAC diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in various environments, including indoor, outdoor, hot, and cold conditions.
• Ability to lift equipment/materials and perform the physical requirements of the position.
