Senior Systems Engineer

Salary: $175,000 - 195,000 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for a bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field, plus 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience; an advanced degree may substitute for equivalent experience.
• We need demonstrated experience in one or more relevant areas such as space systems development, systems engineering, structural or thermal analysis, avionics, power systems, propulsion, orbital mechanics, electrical systems, mechanical and fluid systems, software and controls, or manufacturing.
• We expect experience creating technical material for proposals and external customer presentations.
• We require experience writing and breaking down mission-level and system-level requirements.
• We need a strong understanding of launch, space, and lunar environments.
• Preferred qualifications include familiarity with full mission solutions, mission architecture development, reliability analysis, NASA or industry engineering standards, and agile workflows using tools such as Confluence and Jira.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance is preferred.

• We develop and evaluate new concepts and designs for lunar landers, rovers, surface power systems, and spacecraft.
• We support the creation of technical content for business development, R&D, and mission opportunities.
• We define the system-level technical direction for new products by connecting customer needs with practical, high-performing solutions across hardware and software.
• We conduct trade studies to inform technical, business, and programmatic decisions.
• We perform and review system-level analyses and first-order sizing for space systems, including the creation of high-level MELs and PELs.
• We develop and manage mission concepts of operations, requirements compliance and derivation, launch vehicle requirements, fault management, interface control, verification and validation plans, and technical risk mitigation plans.
• We contribute to schedules, staffing needs, and budget estimates.
• We collaborate with engineering disciplines, partners, customers, and vendors to resolve technical risks and challenges.
• We occasionally join site visits and technical interchange meetings with customer and partner organizations.
• We translate broad customer needs into actionable product goals and system architectures for proposals, customer presentations, and stakeholder communications.
• We participate in cross-functional meetings to ensure engineering solutions align with mission needs, business priorities, and our technology roadmap.
