Nurse Practitioner – Deployment Health

Immediate Openings | $5,000 Sign-On Bonus | No Weekends or Holidays

• Location: Santa Maria, CA 93454 and its surrounding cities
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, between 6:00 AM and 6:30 PM
• Pay (W2): 60.00–85.50/hour
• Pay (1099): $114/hour (confirm rate before publishing)

What You'll Do

Core Clinical Duties:

• Provide comprehensive nurse practitioner services within authorized clinical privileges and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Conduct patient assessments, medical screenings, and examinations for routine, acute, and chronic conditions.
• Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and counsel patients regarding a wide range of health conditions.
• Treat common illnesses, acute conditions, and minor injuries according to established clinical protocols and applicable Nurse Practice Acts.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to manage patients with chronic conditions and complex medical needs.
• Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests within authorized scope of practice.
• Prescribe and dispense medications as permitted by clinical privileges and applicable policies.
• Administer immunizations and provide preventive healthcare services.
• Promote health maintenance, annual physical examinations, positive health behaviors, and patient self-care through education and counseling.

Patient Care Coordination and Documentation:

• Coordinate patient care across the continuum of services to support optimal outcomes, quality, and cost-effective treatment.
• Initiate consultations and referrals to appropriate physicians, specialty clinics, and other healthcare resources when indicated.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical documentation in electronic health records and other required systems.
• Document patient conditions, disease progression, treatment plans, patient education, and follow-up recommendations.
• Maintain compliance with established medical treatment facility policies, procedures, clinical guidelines, and standards of care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and respond promptly to emergency situations.

Clinical Operations and Professional Responsibilities:

• Apply knowledge of pharmacology, medication administration, dosage calculations, disease processes, and potential medication complications.
• Operate and monitor clinical equipment as required, including EKG units, IV infusion pumps, cardiac monitoring devices, oxygen analyzers, and nebulizers.
• Complete required orientation, competency assessments, and ongoing training.
• Support the orientation of newly assigned personnel when appropriate.
• Participate in clinical meetings, committees, quality improvement initiatives, and customer service programs as directed.
• Promote patient safety, infection control, and safe workplace practices in accordance with applicable regulatory standards.
• Support medical readiness activities and other duties consistent with the position and authorized scope of practice.

What You'll Need — Mandatory Qualifications

Education

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree.

Professional Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner within the past 3 years.

Licensure

• Current, full, active, and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license issued by any U.S. state.

DEA Registration

• Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration.

National Certification

• Current national certification in the required specialty through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), or another recognized national nursing certification organization appropriate to the specialty.

Life Support Certifications

• Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current AHA or ARC Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Security Requirements

• Must be able to pass the required government background investigation and meet applicable security requirements.

Competitive Compensation

• W2 Pay: 60.00–85.50 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
• 1099 Pay: $114 per hour, subject to confirmation.
• Sign-On Bonus: $5,000, subject to eligibility requirements.

Sign-On Bonus Criteria

To qualify for the $5,000 sign-on bonus, candidates must:

2. Sign the offer letter within two days of receipt.

4. Complete all required forms within seven days.



The bonus will be paid on the first paycheck after all applicable eligibility criteria have been met.
