Job Description


A Department/Sub-Department Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of their department. This role ensures efficient production, quality control, and adherence to company standards. The Lead will work closely with the Department Manager to support team development and maintain a positive work environment through championing our core values: "People Count, Do the Right Thing, and Go the Extra Mile".

Primary Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Operational Excellence :
  • Ensure specific tasks and output goals are communicated to each team member based on the daily shipping schedule and output targets.
  • Continuously monitor team progress throughout the day, adjusting directives as needed to support in the successful completion of shipping deadlines.
  • Regularly inspect packed products for accuracy, proper labeling, damage, and correct packaging techniques.
• Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures, policies, and safety regulations, escalating issues as needed.
• Team Development:
  • Support the Department Manager with training initiatives, including new hire training, cross-training, and new tooling training.
• Equipment Management:
  • Monitor equipment performance and efficiency metrics to proactively identify and address any issues.
  • Ensure all direct reports have the necessary tools, materials, and equipment at their workstations.

• Must possess strong proficiency in department specific processes, tool, and production techniques
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Knowledge of quality control and process improvement methodologies
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma/GED required
• Completion of 90 days of employment

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
• Physical stamina to endure long periods of standing, walking, and lifting
• Ability to reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and chemicals
• Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions

Work environment is not climate-controlled and may be hot or cold depending on seasonal weather conditions.
