Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MICU Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years ICU/Tele experience with medical/surgical trauma/critical patients. License: KY or Compact license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Level one trauma experience required. Description: The ideal candidate will have two years of experience in an ICU or Telemetry setting. Experience with medical, surgical, trauma, and critical patients is essential. Candidates must have experience in a teaching hospital environment. All licenses and certifications must be in hand prior to employment. A minimum of six weekend shifts per schedule period is required. For the first two weeks of the assignment, only single days off can be requested. Longer time off can be requested after the first two weeks. Requests for time off must be made at the time of submission. No holiday requests for time off will be accepted. Candidates must be able to work their full schedule without conflicts. Submissions should not include those who intend to work multiple contracts at the same time. Please ensure that the candidate is aware of these requirements prior to submission. The patient population includes those diagnosed with sepsis, GI bleed, DKA, multi-system organ failure, pneumonia, overdose, respiratory failure, acute renal failure, and more. Candidates may be required to travel to other departments for special procedures. Floating may be required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals. Rehire eligibility will be checked on a regular basis. Previous charge experience is beneficial. Experience with charting systems is preferred. Candidates will be expected to have essential skills such as arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, and more. All candidates must comply with required certifications and competency exams.
