Phlebotomist

As a Phlebotomist, you will work closely with our other lab staff to perform phlebotomy and collect appropriate samples from our patients who are either being seen by one of our providers and/or will be receiving outpatient infusion treatment. Responsibilities Your experience as a phlebotomist allows you to carefully and efficiently collect specimens from patients as ordered and follow quality and safety procedures for processing those specimens. In conversations with patients, coworkers and third-party laboratories, you communicate respectfully and thoroughly listen to any shared details. Experience with navigating Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and lab management systems will allow you to quickly adapt to the workflow of this position. You will use your organization skills to properly log and maintain inventory while following all OSHA compliance laws and Universal Precaution procedures. You understand the importance of neatly labeling all specimens to prevent any specimen processing errors. Your go-getter work ethic will have you ready to jump in and help out with any additional tasks. Qualifications For your safety, keep this in mind: This position can require standing or sitting for extended periods of time depending on the function of the position being completed. Any lifting should be limited to 40 pounds or less. You will need manual dexterity, proper hand-eye coordination, clear color perception and corrected vision and hearing to normal range. We feel this position requires these basics: While not required, a certificate from an accredited school of phlebotomy is highly preferred. However, a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Entry level phlebotomists are required to have around 0-3 years of experience; a senior level phlebotomist will have 5 or more years of experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
