Details Work in a 12-bed Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CSICU) within a hospital setting Care for critically ill patients recovering from cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and other intensive care interventions Patient population ranges from young adults to geriatric patients Staffing ratio is 1:1 for direct post-op open heart recovery and 1:2 for general ICU patients 12-hour day shifts from 7:00am to 7:00pm, 3 days per week Every other weekend (EOW) required Every other holiday (EOH) required No on-call requirements Requirements Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required ACLS certification required Minimum one year of recent CSICU experience required Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required BSN or MSN preferred Additional Information Deliver competent clinical nursing care in accordance with professional standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director Coordinate and provide patient care utilizing the nursing process for complex, critically ill patients Perform bedside point of care testing as part of the care plan Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and continuity of care Participate in unit performance improvement activities and professional development American Traveler Job ID P-745012.
