Technical Sales & Service RepresentativeSalary: $70,000 - $90,000 annually Department: Sales Reports To: FWK Local Sales Manager FLSA Status: Exempt (Salaried)Position SummaryThe Technical Sales & Service Representative is responsible for developing new business opportunities, maintaining strong customer relationships, and providing technical support throughout an assigned territory. This position serves as the primary point of contact for customers and works closely with internal teams to deliver solutions, support product trials, and drive sales growth. The role combines business development, account management, technical expertise, and customer service to help customers achieve success with FinishWorks products.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop new business opportunities and generate qualified sales leads within an assigned territory.Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.Schedule and conduct customer visits, sales calls, product demonstrations, and presentations.Manage the sales process from prospecting through closing new business opportunities.Achieve sales growth objectives and profitability goals for assigned accounts and territories.Identify customer needs and recommend solutions that improve productivity, quality, and performance.Provide technical support by troubleshooting product, process, and application concerns.Conduct product demonstrations and support customer trials and evaluations.Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, sales activities, and opportunities using CRM software.Prepare and submit activity reports, trip reports, and market intelligence updates.Collaborate with laboratory personnel to coordinate product testing, trial requests, and new product evaluations.Document trial results and customer feedback to support continuous product improvement.Represent FinishWorks professionally at trade shows, customer meetings, industry events, and company functions.Stay informed of market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs within the assigned territory.Travel throughout the territory as required to support customers and business development efforts.QualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, preferably within industrial coatings, manufacturing, chemical products, or a related industry.Valid driver's license.Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.Excellent organizational and time management abilities.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.PreferredBachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Chemistry, Manufacturing, or a related field.Experience with industrial finishing, wood coatings, paint systems, or chemical coatings.Previous technical sales or territory management experience.Experience conducting product demonstrations and customer training.Key SkillsBusiness DevelopmentTerritory ManagementTechnical SalesCustomer Relationship ManagementAccount GrowthProblem SolvingProduct DemonstrationsNegotiationPresentation SkillsCRM SoftwareManufacturing and Industrial Sales KnowledgeBenefitsCompetitive salary: $70,000 - $90,000Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance401(k) with Company MatchPaid Time Off and HolidaysLife InsuranceProfessional Development OpportunitiesCompany-Supported Travel and TrainingWhy Join FinishWorks?At FinishWorks, you'll have the opportunity to directly impact customer success while building lasting relationships and growing a successful sales territory.
