About the Position

Job Title: ICU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with high acuity patient populations. Experience with titrating drips. Description: The ICU unit has 16 beds plus 2 additional procedural beds. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:2 or 1:1 for higher acuity patients. Common patient diagnoses include cardiovascular surgery, trauma, and various surgical procedures. Daily responsibilities include monitoring patients and managing medications. Charge nurses are available on every shift, but may take on assignments based on census needs. Intensivists and respiratory therapists are present 24/7 in the unit. Registered nurses are responsible for reading and documenting telemetry strips. Shifts are scheduled to meet unit needs, with weekend and holiday requirements. Staff may be required to float to other critical care areas if necessary. Professional attire is required, and specific uniform colors are not mandated. Orientation consists of system onboarding and skill checklist completion.
