ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Facility operates a compassionate, highly structured residential program exclusively serving adults with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS). Multidisciplinary team is dedicated to maximizing independence, safety, and quality of life for our residents through evidence-informed, person-centered care. PWS requires a uniquely specialized approach to behavioral health — and seeking an equally specialized clinician to join the mission.

POSITION SUMMARY

Seeking a licensed mental health clinician to provide individual therapy, behavioral consultation, crisis support, and staff training within our residential program. This position may be filled as a full-time employee or an independent consultant, depending on the candidate’s preference and qualifications. The ideal candidate brings clinical expertise in developmental disabilities, behavioral health, and complex trauma, combined with a genuine passion for working with individuals who have Prader-Willi Syndrome.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide individual therapy and counseling to residents, tailored to the cognitive and emotional profiles common in PWS
• Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (physicians, dietitians, behavior specialists, direct care staff) to ensure integrated, whole-person care
• Offer behavioral consultation to staff regarding de-escalation, positive behavioral support, and crisis prevention
• Facilitate family counseling sessions and psychoeducation for resident families as appropriate
• Participate in resident care conferences, discharge planning, and coordination with outside providers
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements
• Provide training and support to residential staff on PWS-specific behavioral and emotional presentations
• Support crisis intervention and risk assessment as needed
• Contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Active California licensure as LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist), or LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor)
• Minimum two (2) years of post-licensure clinical experience
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD), autism spectrum disorder, or genetic syndromes
• Strong knowledge of behavioral health interventions, trauma-informed care, and applied behavioral principles
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and team collaboration
• Ability to work effectively within a highly structured, interdisciplinary residential environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Direct experience with Prader-Willi Syndrome or other hypothalamic disorders
• Training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or Positive Behavior Support (PBS) frameworks
• Experience in residential, group home, or 24-hour care setttings
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
• Familiarity with California Title 22 residential facility regulations
