Title: Controller Salary: $120,000–$140,000 Location: Abington, MA (100% onsite) Why This Opportunity Stands Out High-impact leadership role overseeing the accounting function for an established contracting organization Broad ownership across financial reporting, job costing, WIP, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow Partner directly with Project Managers on project profitability, forecasting, and cost-to-complete analysis Opportunity to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and drive efficiencies Manage and mentor accounting staff Competitive benefits including healthcare, 401(k) with company match, PTO, and professional development support Controller Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and general ledger reporting Maintain accurate WIP schedules, job-cost reporting, and GAAP revenue recognition Oversee day-to-day accounting including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll Manage cash flow, forecasting, and budgeting processes Oversee weekly certified payroll for union employees and ensure compliance with union benefits, dues, fringe contributions, and prevailing wage requirements Maintain job cost reporting and monitor project profitability Partner with Project Managers on change orders, billings, retainage, budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-complete analysis Coordinate annual audits, bonding requirements, banking relationships, and insurance audits Implement and maintain strong internal controls and improve accounting processes Manage and mentor accounting staff Controller Qualifications 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience Contracting industry experience required Strong understanding of union and certified payroll requirements Experience with job costing, WIP reporting, and construction accounting Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Experience with construction accounting systems such as Spectrum, Vista, Sage 300, or similar Strong Excel and financial analysis skills Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to work 100% onsite in Abington, MA #J-18808-Ljbffr
