Job Title: Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting large-tonnage progressive and transfer stamping presses in a heavy industrial automotive environment. You will work with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as PLCs, VFDs, and robotics, to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of production equipment. The position requires a seasoned maintenance professional who can diagnose complex issues, perform corrective and preventive maintenance, and support continuous improvement initiatives on multiple shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair large-tonnage progressive and transfer stamping presses to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, pumps, and related components.
• Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on industrial equipment, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
• Work with PLCs and VFDs, including troubleshooting control systems and drive issues to restore equipment functionality.
• Support and maintain AP&T transfer systems and Fanuc robots, including re-teaching and rehoming touch points when required.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics to guide maintenance and repair activities.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance on stamping presses and associated equipment to improve reliability and extend equipment life.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address equipment concerns and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately to support maintenance planning and compliance.
• Follow all safety procedures and best practices in a heavy industrial automotive environment, including lockout/tagout and safe work practices around stamping presses.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly and prioritize tasks to minimize impact on production schedules.
• Assist in the installation, commissioning, and modification of equipment and systems as needed.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of six (6) years of industrial multi-craft maintenance experience.
• Proven experience working with large-tonnage progressive and transfer stamping presses.
• Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
• Hands-on experience with pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in an industrial environment.
• Mechanical troubleshooting experience on heavy industrial equipment.
• Experience with PLCs, including PLC troubleshooting.
• Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience working in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to perform maintenance technician duties in a heavy industrial setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with AP&T transfer systems is a significant advantage.
• Fanuc robotics experience is highly beneficial.
• Ability to re-teach and rehome robot touch points.
• Experience in a stamping or heavy press environment.
• Comfort working with both electrical and mechanical systems (true multi-craft capability).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to work different shifts as needed to support production.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lebanon, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $38.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
