(Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988) Preferred qualifications: The formal education of a high school diploma. 10+ years of work experience in grounds maintenance and general labor. 10+ years of work experience in operation of lawn care equipment. 10+ years of work experience in maintaining lawn equipment. Ability to lift items 50 pounds or more during performance of work duties. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions. Additional job duties: Perform routine maintenance on state facilities, grounds, and infrastructure, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and minor electrical work. Operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment necessary for maintenance and repair work. Maintain state-owned grounds by mowing, trimming, weeding, planting, and watering vegetation. Remove debris, fallen branches, and litter from parks, roads, and public spaces. Assist with seasonal maintenance, including leaf removal, snow removal, and ice control. Clean and maintain public buildings, offices, restrooms, and common areas to ensure a sanitary and safe environment. Operate and maintain state-owned vehicles, lawnmowers, tractors, and other heavy equipment as assigned. Assist in receiving and storing supplies, ensuring proper handling and organization. This role involves assisting with maintenance, construction, landscaping, and custodial duties to ensure that state facilities, roads, parks, and other properties are safe, clean, and functional.
