Technician Production Test Specialist

WHAT WE’RE DOING

This position is for a level 2 Test Technician within Production Operations for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Pilot Training Device (PTD) product line of flight simulators, including the Full Mission Simulator (FMS), the Modified Mission Rehearsal Trainer (MMRT), and the Deployable Mission Rehearsal Trainer (DMRT), as well as the Training Infrastructure System (TIS). We integrate deliverable hardware and deliverable software during production testing in our Orlando facility and then deliver the advanced Pilot Training Devices to our customers at their US and international locations. We take pride in our work because we know that pilots gain proficiency in our flight simulators that directly translates to effectiveness when they operate the F-35 aircraft in real-world tactical situations. Specific Responsibilities Performs the integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, subsystems and/or systems, using published procedures. Verifies documented functional and technical specifications and standards, identifies hardware/software interface problems, modifies components to defined input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem. Duties may include setting up user accounts, installing system wide software, and adjusting and calibrating systems as required. Assists test engineers in design and development of new testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Within 6 months of start date, may travel to US and International customer sites to install F-35 Pilot Training Devices (flight simulators). Maintains test assets and test area to ensure efficient testing. Who We Are Our functional group, the Production Operations Test Team, is composed of 32 professionals with a common purpose to provide the pilots of the United States and our Allies with high quality pilot training devices. We are the connection between each program’s development engineers who integrate new capabilities into subsystems and the remainder of our Production Operations organization who manufacture high quality components in repeatable processes. We have a unique role that gains expertise in both deployable hardware and deployable software. Who You Are As a Production Operations Test Technician, you are the best hands‑on executor of procedures to get complex components networked and configured to operate as an integrated system. Government customers, program managers, and test engineers depend on you to consistently perform complicated procedures to ensure that systems are ready for final acceptance tests. You are curious and maybe a bit of a tinkerer, but you know how to focus your efforts to provide a high‑quality product that is on time and within budget.

Basic Qualifications Knowledgeable in hardware (servers, switches, I/O modules, & interface panels) and software (Linux OS, Windows OS, & VMware); who correctly identifies unexpected test results as hardware induced or software induced errors. High School diploma with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical/para‑engineering tasks and 2 Year of experience. Familiarity with configuration and management of HPE, Extreme, Arista, and Juniper network devices. Has basic knowledge of computer rack cabling, hard drive cloning, installing software licenses, IP configuration, performing firmware updates, and system hardening. Desired Skills Ability to provide guidance or leadership to lower-level personnel as needed. Capable of working independently and taking initiative in problem‑solving. Excellent organizational and problem‑solving abilities. Strong analytical and mathematical skills. Contributes to major organizational activities and projects. Errors in work could have significant negative impact at the section or project level if not identified and corrected. Expected to maintain a high standard of accuracy and accountability. Current CompTIA Security + certification. Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD secret clearance. Experience with training simulators. Experience / familiarity with Ansible or other network automation tools. Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and able to communicate effectively with external customer and internal leadership about technical status/issues. Current approval to access JSF Special Access Programs. Security Clearance Statement This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
