Respiratory TherapistReports to: Director of HME OperationsScheduled Hours: PRN-As NeededPosition Overview:Assessing patients' respiratory conditions and developing treatment plans.Administering respiratory/sleep disordered breathing therapies.Monitoring patients' responses to therapy and adjusting treatment plans as needed.Educating patients and their families on respiratory conditions and home care.Duties/Responsibilities:Comply with all applicable company policies and procedures.Administer respiratory/sleep disorder treatments as prescribedEducate patient and caregivers on prescribed treatmentDevelop patient plan of care with patient's physician and evaluate patients' response to therapyReview patient medical records to assure equipment coverage requirements are met.Develop and maintain working knowledge of (i) current HME products and services offered and (ii) all applicable governmental regulations.Ensures that all required documentation including, but not limited to certificates of medical necessity, and assignment of benefits required for reimbursement are procured in a timely and efficient mannerDevelops and maintains working knowledge of current Medicare, Medicaid, insurance regulations, and FDA/DOT and HQAA guidelinesParticipates in respiratory equipment inventory control and ordering activities; assists in receiving and stocking respiratory equipment inventory as necessary.Provide clinical respiratory guidance to staff as needed.Maintains a high level of satisfaction with patients, referral sources and location employeesMaintains a professional and clean working environmentWorks with staff to maintain clinical programsOther duties assigned by management.Minimum Qualifications:Must be a CRT or RRT with a valid Ohio licenseAssociate degree or equivalent; or two to four years of related experienceHome care and/or DME experience preferredExcellent customer service skillsRequired License/Certifications: Valid Ohio Respiratory Therapist license; valid Ohio driver's licenseCompetency Requirements: HME and Respiratory CompetenciesPhysical demands:Sitting, standing, walkingOperation of office machinery and computerOccasionally lift/move items up to 100 poundsVisual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral visionEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
