Job Title: Palliative Care RN Profession: RN Specialty: Med/Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12.0 Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: - Minimum of 2 years of recent palliative or acute med/surg experience License: - NYS RN License Certifications: - BLS from American Heart Association Must-Have: - Experience with patient-controlled analgesia pumps or CHPN certification highly desired Description: This position is for a unit serving patients with intensive symptom management needs at the end of life. Compassion and the ability to manage patients with complex needs and families in crisis are essential. Good IV skills and wound care skills are required. Astute assessment skills are mandatory to advocate for patients who often cannot speak for themselves. The unit also cares for general medicine overflow. Experience with patient-controlled analgesia pumps or CHPN certification is highly desired.
