Role Description This full-time, hybrid Mortgage Loan Officer role is based in the Clayton, NC area and focuses on originating and managing residential mortgage loans. The Mortgage Loan Officer meets with prospective and existing customers, assesses their home financing needs, and recommends appropriate loan products in line with bank policies and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding customers through the application process, collecting and reviewing financial documentation, coordinating with underwriting and processing teams, and monitoring loan files from application through closing. The role also involves maintaining strong relationships with real estate professionals and community partners, providing timely updates to customers, and ensuring a high standard of customer service throughout the lending process. Qualifications Experience as a Loan Officer or in a similar lending role, with the ability to manage a pipeline of mortgage applications. Knowledge of the Mortgage Industry and Mortgage Lending practices, including conventional, FHA, VA, and other common loan products. Understanding of Underwriting principles and documentation requirements to help package complete, compliant loan files. Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, build trust, and support customers through complex financial decisions. Familiarity with banking and lending regulations, compliance standards, and ethical lending practices. Proficiency with loan origination systems, basic office software, and data entry with high attention to detail. Effective interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred. Prior mortgage or financial services experience in a community banking environment is beneficial. Ability to work on-site in the Clayton area and maintain flexibility to meet with customers as needed. #J-18808-Ljbffr
