Purchasing Administrative AssistantRecruiter: LHHLocation: Tempe, ArizonaPay: $25 - $26 / HourContract: Contract to hirePurchasing Assistant LHH Recruitment Solutions is recruiting for a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join a growing client in Tempe. This role will provide administrative and operational support to the purchasing team, helping ensure purchase orders, vendor communications, invoices, GL coding, documentation, and purchasing records are accurate and completed in a timely manner. This role is compensating up to $26/hr. The schedule is Monday-Friday and there will be some hybrid flexibility once you are fully trained.The ideal candidate has purchasing or procurement experience, strong attention to detail, and a basic understanding of accounting and general ledger coding.ResponsibilitiesAssist the purchasing team with daily purchasing and administrative activitiesCreate, enter, and maintain purchase orders and purchasing recordsCommunicate with vendors regarding orders, pricing, availability, and delivery schedulesTrack purchase orders and follow up on outstanding or delayed ordersReview purchasing documentation and invoices for accuracyAssist with GL coding of invoices and purchasing transactionsEnsure expenses and purchases are assigned to the appropriate general ledger accounts, cost centers, or departmentsResearch and resolve discrepancies involving purchase orders, invoices, shipments, or deliveriesMaintain accurate vendor and product informationProvide general administrative support to the purchasing departmentAssist with special projects and other duties as assignedQualifications1–3 years of purchasing, procurement, accounts payable, accounting, or related administrative experienceExperience with GL coding is required or strongly preferredUnderstanding of general ledger accounts, cost centers, and proper expense classificationStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent organizational and follow-up skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelExperience working with an ERP, purchasing, or accounting system preferredAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsManufacturing, distribution, purchasing, or supply chain experience is a plus
