Intertek's Building and Construction Field Testing group is primarily focused on building enclosure field testing for new construction and retrofit projects.What are we looking for?As a Field Testing Technician, you will assist with field testing and building inspections. This position provides opportunity for growth and development within the department and company as we provide on-the-job training. This job requires travel most weeks Monday through Friday and a shared company vehicle is provided for work travel.Shift/Schedule: Monday – Friday with travel most weeksWhat you'll do:Field testing projects and building envelope testing as assignedForensic investigations of building envelope failuresCommunicate with clients and project team regarding site observations, test preparation, procedures, results, and reporting matters Prepare and submit accurate and concise reports on all projects assignedProvide project coordination including planning, scheduling, execution and reportingConsistent and professional interaction and communication with clients and project teamMinimum Requirements & Qualifications:High school diploma or GED equivalent6+ months experience using hand and power tools (drills, saws, tape measures, light carpentry, etc.)Comfortable working with elevated platformsAbility to learn the building envelope including wall cladding systems, curtain wall, window and door systems, waterproofing, roofing, etc. and their installation means and methodsAbility to learn and comprehend testing standardsAptitude for working independently on assigned projectsTechnical competency and ability to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers, both in writing and orallyStrong planning and organizational skills with the ability to meet changing priorities and strict deadlinesGood computer skills – Microsoft Office & OutlookAbility to routinely lift a minimum of 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, bend, crawl, push and pull as neededWillingness to travel 75% of the time or moreValid driver's license and reliable driving record (required)Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:Associate degree in a technical field preferredIntertek: Total Quality.
