Travel Surgical Technologist - $1,971 per week

Integrated Healthcare Services is seeking a travel Surgical Technologist for a travel job in Grand Junction, Colorado. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Surgical Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, evenings Employment Type: Travel Surgery Tech Location: - Not specified Job Summary: Performs various duties as a member of the surgical team to ensure a safe and successful operative procedure. This position functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and directly reports to Surgical Services management. The Surgery Tech is expected to support system-wide and surgical operations initiatives and practices. Additionally, this role actively participates in the surgical operations safety plan as outlined. Required Qualifications: - Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program. - OR graduated from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past six (6) months (not eligible for Tech in Surgery exam). - OR two (2) years of scrub tech experience in hospital/military surgical services within the last three (3) years. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers. Preferred Qualifications: - Active National Certification as an ORT in Surgery. - OR Certified Surgical Technologist. Job Responsibilities: - Maintains accountability for ensuring the operating room and all surgical items meet sterilization criteria. - Maintains the sterile field and ensures a safe environment. - Recognizes and addresses sharps and fire safety processes. - Prepares the operating room and instruments for the surgical procedure. - May assist with sterile processing. - Assists the surgeon(s) during the procedure while staying within the ORT scope of practice. - Identifies emergency situations and exercises judgment when implementing procedures to respond to emergencies. - Assists with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for the next procedure upon completion of the procedure. Additional Information: - Demonstrates the ability to maintain a sterile field and ensure environmental safety. - Demonstrates knowledge of surgical services and sterile processing. - Has experience in surgeries support, life support situations, sterile field management, and sterilization processes. - Has experience in supervision within surgical services (within ORT scope).
