Overview

Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day

Description

The Scheduler is responsible for optimizing production output by creating and maintaining production schedules. This position will work closely with multiple departments to ensure there is enough raw materials on hand, as well as identifying priorities and changes in production capabilities and customer orders.

Essential Functions

• Develop and maintain production schedules by using data to optimize the scheduling process
• Uncover problems and help improve processes by identifying priorities and constraints
• Work closely with Purchasing to ensure raw materials are stocked and at acceptable levels
• Communicate schedule disruptions to appropriate department leads and recommend corrective actions
• Provide back up support to review and approve production orders that have been completed
• Work with the Production Supervisor to get incomplete or questionable data on production orders resolved
• Provide back up support to enter daily production from completed production runs into the NAV system
• Reorganize production schedule to meet new daily priorities
• Other duties as assigned

• Must be organized with the ability to change priorities quickly and with accuracy
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel
• Ability to analyze data in large amounts and problem solve
• Must be able to perform basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Ability to demonstrate high attention to detail

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to allergens, moving mechanical parts and vibration as well as equipment. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands and Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and type. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday with both voluntary and mandatory overtime.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Education, Skills, and Experience

• Must have a minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree preferred but not required.
• Three or more years of experience working in a production environment is required
• Previous experience scheduling in a production environment is highly desired
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications, email, telephones, and other business software and office equipment in a professional environment

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
