ROLE TITLE: Data Warehouse Developer II

CLIENT LOCATION: Madison, WI 53703

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Hybrid; approximately 90% remote.

DESCRIPTION

The client is seeking one Data Warehouse Developer II to migrate mappings, mapplets, sessions, and workflows from Informatica PowerCenter to Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC).

The developer will assist with ETL design, development, testing, maintenance, metadata, and implementation of data warehouse initiatives. The role includes understanding user requirements; developing ETL mapping specifications for loading information into the data warehouse; ensuring the reliability and security of loaded information; and continuously improving data warehouse performance and tuning.

The developer will work with other IT technical teams and business users to understand requirements and recommend and implement solutions. This is a career-development position that works with moderate supervision and some latitude for independent judgment. The role typically requires four to five years of experience or equivalent education.

The broader assignment includes designing, developing, and maintaining relational databases for data storage and data mining; performing data warehouse design and testing, including data design, database architecture, metadata, and repository creation; and developing processes and procedures for entering information into data warehousing systems and ensuring its reliability.

KEY SKILLS

• Experience migrating assets from Informatica PowerCenter to IDMC, including testing, validation, and performance tuning (2+ years).
• Data warehousing process design, development, performance, and tuning using both IDMC and Informatica PowerCenter (4+ years).
• Architecture of data warehouse and data integration strategies and solutions.
• Relational database technologies, including Oracle, DB2, and SQL Server, with strong SQL-based data management and analysis (3+ years).
• Hands-on experience migrating complex PowerCenter assets to IDMC; IDMC and CDI-PC experience (2+ years each).
• Data warehouse design and development, requirements gathering, data analysis, and performance tuning (4+ years).
• Relational and dimensional data modeling, slowly changing dimensions, and Kimball data warehouse design principles (2+ years for Kimball).
• Implementation of large, complicated models and processes (2 years), plus development of design specifications (3+ years).
• Oracle querying and report development (3+ years), DB2 (2 years), and SQL Server.
• Test plans, test cases, test procedures, defect identification, and quality-assurance processes/use cases (3+ years).
• System development life cycle deliverables across planning, analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and support (3+ years).
• Technical writing and documentation (3 years), customer response skills (3+ years), and excellent oral and written communication (5+ years).
• Strong organization, analysis, problem solving, time management, meeting facilitation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to navigate a large organization, initiate and complete complex short- and long-term projects, and work independently while keeping the supervisor informed.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, and Outlook.
• Experience programming mainframe applications using technologies such as COBOL and DB2 to maintain and enhance mainframe functionality.
• Knowledge of State of Wisconsin privacy regulations.
