Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: Outpatient PT Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8 Hours per Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Experience: Minimum 1 year experience required License: New Mexico license may be pending at submission Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with completion of exemption form signed by a provider for medical exemptions. - First-timers accepted with acute inpatient experience. - Experience in treating adults and geriatrics. - Skills in cardiopulmonary, geriatrics, neurology, sports medicine, and outpatient clinic settings. Description: This position requires a physical therapist to provide outpatient therapy services. The clinician will manage a daily caseload of approximately 11 patients. There is no weekend coverage required. The practice will focus on patients with a range of conditions including orthopedic injuries, neurological disorders, and rehabilitative care. Candidates should possess skills in assessment, evaluation, discharge processes, and the creation of home exercise programs. Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency in techniques such as AROM/AAROM/PROM, strength testing, and gait training. The facility supports both patients post-surgery and individuals with chronic conditions. Clincial responsibilities will also include patient family education, pain assessment, and monitoring vital signs. The ideal candidate is someone who can effectively communicate and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team. Certain skills required include working with assistive devices, managing low back pain, and rehabilitation following strokes or brain injuries. The facility is a community-based hospital featuring a teaching environment. Total staffed beds include a designated number for ICU. Free parking is available for staff.
