Posted on: 6/10/2026 - Application Deadline: - Responsibilities You will leverage chemistry knowledge to propose and/or design adsorbent and related materials for different gas separations and purifications Further, you will employ AI tools to accelerate materials design, optimization and characterization Using chemistry skills to prepare and/or modify new adsorbent and related materials for new uses and applications is part of your role You will also apply advanced characterization methods to determine the properties of adsorbent and related materials Use analytical skills to collect and/or analyze routine and non-routine adsorption and materials property data and propose and/or develop new analysis and test methods, as required Further, you will handle and use chemicals, gases, and cryogens in accordance with all Linde Engineering, and safety and environmental regulations Lead medium to large sized R&D programs to meet their technical goals, timing objectives and budget requirements Developing intellectual property documents, detailed technical reports and other project related or project management documentation will be part of your role You will plan work activities for the programs under their leadership and delegate work items to other project team members, or develop AI processing methods, to accelerate progress Additionally, you will maintain relationships with key suppliers and participate in joint development and other technical collaborations with suppliers or third parties In this role, you will communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with peers and R&D staff members and show a willingness to take direction and input from others What makes you great You have a PhD. degree in Chemistry or Material Science as this is required for this role Additionally, you also have at least 5 years’ industrial experience, in a R&D laboratory environment or equivalent required, with a proven track‑record of success Advanced chemistry knowledge in relevant field, including the materials, their properties, applications, and their characterization methods You are skilled in the use of AI tools to accelerate materials development, optimization and characterization Further, you have the ability to adapt chemical know‑how to new areas and learn quickly from others or by self‑study Accomplished chemical handling, and good lab practices You also have effective analytical and problem‑solving skills Additionally, you have the proven ability to plan and perform research work independently with minimal supervision as well as multitask and prioritize workload to meet deadlines Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office Software, Microsoft Copilot or other established AI tools, and other Company and discipline specific software applications Lastly, you are able to travel up to 20%, including international assignments Why you will love working with us Linde Engineering Americas (LEA) is a member of the Linde Engineering Division of Linde plc. The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $115,000 USD annually.
