Business Unit: Network Design & Construction (NKC) Pay Rate: $25.50/hour Location: Washington State Schedule:

• Fully Remote
• 40 hours/week
• Travel ~10%: Monthly team meetings in Seattle
• Overtime available

Position Overview

The Utility Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the Fiber Network Design & Construction team by managing permit applications and coordinating utility documentation for construction projects. This position serves as a key liaison between internal project teams and external partners, including municipal agencies, utility providers, and permitting authorities.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and confident working with data and financial tracking systems. Strong Excel skills are essential. Experience collaborating with government agencies, utilities, land use authorities, or jurisdictional entities is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Permit & Utility Coordination

• Review and organize documentation from internal teams to support permit applications

• Prepare and submit pole and conduit applications to electric, telephone, cable utilities, and tower owners

• Submit NODE applications for power and equipment installations

• Research and apply through utility, co-op, and municipal online systems

• Track and manage permit applications from submission through approval

• Submit job completion documentation following construction closeout

Financial & Invoice Management

• Prepare and submit purchase orders

• Process contractor invoices

• Review, verify, and coordinate payment of field survey and make-ready bills

• Assist with budget tracking and financial reporting

Project Tracking & Reporting

• Maintain accurate project tracking systems, including third-party management platforms

• Monitor deliverables, deadlines, and project milestones

• Generate recurring and ad hoc reports

• Ensure project documentation remains complete, organized, and up to date

Administrative & Team Support

• Draft and distribute internal and external communications

• Support meeting preparation and coordination activities

• Maintain project records, contact databases, and file integrity

• Assist with special projects and additional administrative tasks as assigned

• Provide support to regional teams and leadership as needed

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate's Degree preferred)

• 1–3 years of project coordination and/or administrative support experience

• Mid-to-advanced Microsoft Excel skills (required)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint; Visio preferred)

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with government agencies, utilities, land use, or permitting processes

• Basic knowledge of the telecommunications industry

• Financial tracking or budget management experience

• Experience working with municipal or jurisdictional entities

Additional Details

• Fully remote within Washington State, with monthly in-person team meetings in Seattle

• Mileage and internet expenses reimbursed per company policy

• Weekly Time & Expense submissions required
