Responsibilities

• Draw blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures
• Provide coverage at multiple sites, including patient service centers, mobile clinics, long-term care facilities, and in-office collections
• Explain procedures to patients to create a trusting and comfortable environment
• Ensure all daily activities related to phlebotomy and specimen processing are completed accurately and on schedule
• Act as a leader or mentor to new staff and provide onboarding support as needed
• Manage high-volume blood collections with efficiency and attention to detail
• Collaborate with team members and other departments such as laboratory testing, billing, and logistics to ensure seamless service
• Handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume setting while maintaining quality and confidentiality

Required Skills

• Ability to draw blood samples independently and accurately
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen handling and data entry
• Understanding of medical terminology
• Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records
• Valid driver's license and vehicle for travel across designated territory

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington
• Five years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
• Minimum of three years in a patient service center or in-office practice preferred
• Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred
• Medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus
• Must be able to travel throughout the territory and cover multiple locations as needed
• Schedule flexibility may be required to accommodate high-volume practices
