Construction Inspector

Job Description Parsons is looking for a CEI Inspector to join our team! In this role, you will perform various construction-related inspections on complex construction projects, ensuring contractor compliance with plans and specifications while preparing detailed reports, conducting field testing, and supporting project documentation and safety efforts. What You’ll Be Doing Conduct and/or participate in inspection activities to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications. Perform inspection activities which may include: Demolition of transportation facilities (roads, streets, bridges, etc.) Construction of roads, bridges, and other associated improvements (curb, gutter, sidewalk, landscaping, etc.) Drainage work, traffic control, and compliance with storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) requirements Installation of electrical equipment related to traffic signals, ramp metering, and street lighting Inspect roadway and overhead sign removal Capture project photographs daily; file/organize. Maintain office files related to the project, quantity calculations, and write daily diaries. Prepare daily reports and other documentation, as required by the contract. Verify only approved materials are incorporated in the work. Recognize potential issues and problems; report to supervisor. Respond to callbacks in case of emergency at the project site. Perform work in a safe manner and be cognizant of public safety. Required Skills Familiarity with public works contracts and construction related processes Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications Effective time management skills to proactively prepare for work assignment Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Effective written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of English grammar and composition Ability to prepare written diaries and reports Basic math skill including familiarity with simple engineering calculations, graphs, and charts Familiarity with basic computer applications and usage to include Microsoft Office, Project Management Software, and internet search engines (like Google or equivalent) Ability to understand and comply with project requirements as applicable based on client and industry standards Basic understanding of scheduling, and the ability to review progress pay estimates and extra work bills Ability to recognize hazardous work conditions Ability to work cohesively in a team and/or dynamic work environment Ability to climb ladders, inspect work above ground, and work in confined spaces Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
