This position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that's constantly evolving.Position SummaryThe Assistant Grocery Manager assists in the overall operation of the Grocery Department to ensure exceptional customer service, department profitability, food safety compliance, and achievement of sales and labor goals. This position partners with the Grocery Manager to oversee inventory management, merchandising standards, associate development, and daily operational execution while maintaining a safe and welcoming shopping environment.Key Responsibilities Department OperationsAssist in directing daily Grocery Department operations to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.Support department execution of sales, profit, shrink, and labor objectives.Ensure department conditions meet company standards for cleanliness, organization, and safety.Monitor inventory levels and maintain in-stock conditions throughout the department.Assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotation of merchandise.Review department performance and identify opportunities for improvement.Merchandising & Inventory ManagementExecute merchandising plans, displays, promotional programs, and seasonal initiatives.Ensure product rotation procedures are followed to maintain freshness and minimize shrink.Maintain proper pricing, signage, and shelf tags.Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.Monitor out-of-stock conditions and coordinate replenishment activities.Leadership & Team DevelopmentAssist in supervising, training, coaching, and developing Grocery Department associates.Provide daily direction to associates regarding priorities, productivity, and customer service expectations.Support onboarding and training of new associates.Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.Assist with scheduling and labor deployment to meet business needs.Customer ServiceDeliver and promote exceptional customer service standards.Resolve customer concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner.Ensure associates actively engage customers and create a positive shopping experience.Build customer loyalty through consistent service and product availability.Safety & ComplianceEnsure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and food safety standards.Maintain a safe working environment for associates and customers.Follow all established security, sanitation, and loss prevention practices.Support regulatory compliance inspections and audits.Maintain required certifications and training.We also provide a variety of benefits including:Competitive wages paid weeklyAccess to up to 50% of your earned wages before payday, via our partnership with StreamAssociate discountsHealth and financial well-being benefits for eligible associates (Medical, Dental, 401k and more!)Time off (vacation, holidays, sick pay).
