Resident Care Supervisor

Homestead provides care in a Senior Living Facility in Westland and is hiring a Resident Care Supervisor who will act as a key point of contact for residents, business leaders, managers, and families to ensure that company goals and milestones are met. The supervisor will lead caregivers with a positive attitude and respond to all the needs of the residents, including those in the dementia unit. This is an on‑call, full‑time position (first shift 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. with on‑call coverage as needed). Good communication skills with all levels of staff and management, previous experience caring for seniors and managing care staff, and a love for seniors are required. Duties Maintain employee files Review shift supervisor checklists Cover open shifts as needed, including call offs; keep on‑call phone available Assist residents with dressing, bathing and toileting Follow up on issues and review 24‑hour logs for corrective actions on medication errors, absences, etc. Assess and address care complaints Review payroll for missed punches, missed lunches, etc., and follow up Enter shift pick‑ups and shift trades Create staff schedules and prepare shift assignments Schedule and interview applicants Conduct QA audits, review incident reports and medication errors, and implement interventions or training; involve nursing staff as necessary Meet with each new admit to discuss needs and expectations; audit medication waivers and private pay charting; update medication waiver counselors; conduct a medication cart audit every other week Order clinical supplies Conduct monthly care audits on all resident assistants and monthly medication pass audits on all medication technicians Ensure government forms are completed and correct Benefits Opportunities for advancement Medical, dental and vision insurance Employee recognition events Paid time off Requirements Prior experience managing a senior living facility (minimum 2 years); experience in a dementia unit is a plus Able to be on‑call for all three shifts as needed Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively and delegate responsibilities appropriately Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to facilitate small group presentations Strong organizational and time‑management skills Good judgment, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities Proficient computer skills Availability to work weekends, evenings and flexible hours as needed for resident care and services, particularly during peak service times #J-18808-Ljbffr Homestead Healthcare
