Role Description The Engineering Teacher for 2026–2027 will design and deliver engaging engineering lessons aligned with the school's STEM-focused curriculum. This full-time, on-site role in Phoenix, AZ involves preparing lesson plans, teaching daily classes, facilitating hands‑on projects and labs, and integrating real‑world engineering applications into instruction. The teacher will assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of grades and attendance. Responsibilities also include collaborating with colleagues on interdisciplinary initiatives, participating in school events, supervising student activities related to engineering such as clubs or competitions, and communicating regularly with families about student learning and achievement. This position is an immediate hire. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Teaching and Education skills, with experience delivering standards-based instruction in a classroom setting. Candidates should possess effective Lesson Planning abilities, including designing clear objectives, assessments, and project-based learning activities. Candidates should possess solid Communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse learners and collaborate with colleagues and families. Candidates should possess Training and mentoring skills to guide students through technical projects, safety procedures, and teamwork in lab or workshop environments. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Education, STEM Education, or a closely related field; relevant teaching certification or licensure preferred. Knowledge of foundational engineering principles, applied mathematics, and basic design software or tools commonly used in secondary engineering courses. Demonstrated ability to create an inclusive, safe, and respectful classroom environment that supports learners with varied backgrounds and abilities. Comfort with using educational technology, learning management systems, and data to inform instruction and support continuous improvement. Prior experience teaching at the middle or high school level, or equivalent industry experience paired with a strong interest in education, is highly beneficial. Valid Arizona DPS IVP fingerprint clearance card, or the ability to obtain one prior to the start date.
