Quality Control Laboratory Manager

Georgetown, SC (100% Onsite)

$100,000–$130,000 + Relocation Assistance

Full-Time | Direct Hire

Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a  Quality Control Laboratory Manager for a direct-hire opportunity with a leading specialty chemical manufacturer in Georgetown, SC.

This is a hands-on leadership role managing an  ISO 9001:2015 accredited Quality Control Laboratory that supports a 24/7 manufacturing operation. Approximately 50% of your time will be spent leading and developing an 8-person laboratory team, while the other 50% will be dedicated to laboratory testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Quality Control Laboratory professionals.
• Oversee daily laboratory operations and sample workflow.
• Perform and interpret analytical testing using HPLC, GC, GC-MS, FT-IR, UV-Vis, Karl Fischer, NMR, and other laboratory instrumentation.
• Support manufacturing through timely analytical testing and technical problem-solving.
• Lead laboratory investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA activities.
• Maintain compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and Quality Management System requirements.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, analytical methods, and laboratory documentation.
• Support LIMS activities, data integrity, and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline.
• 5+ years of Quality Control or Analytical Chemistry experience within chemical manufacturing.
• 2+ years of laboratory leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, Quality Management Systems, CAPA, and laboratory compliance.
• Experience with LIMS, JD Edwards (Oracle), or similar systems is a plus.
