Direct Support Professional – Community Habilitation Reports to: Community Habilitation Program Manager Pay: $19.49 – $21.20 Hourly About the Role We are looking for a proactive employee to promote participant growth and independence while out in the community. Activities include visiting the YMCA, malls, state parks, bowling alleys, the zoo, and more. Responsibilities Supporting participants with activities of daily living (ADL) Implementing participants behavior guidelines and goals as written in Staff Action Plan Monitoring health and safety, building advocacy, decision making, and community connections Teaching participants skills to promote independence Day-to-day support includes exploring the community, attending recreational activities such as the movies, libraries, parks, restaurants, and the mall. Participants are also assisted with grocery shopping, cooking, and laundry to build independence and social interaction skills. Education and Experience High school diploma/GED preferred. Experience working with people with disabilities preferred. Basic word processing and e‑mail skills are required. Conditions of Employment Must possess a valid driver’s license and transportation available. Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Schedule Various shifts available: Monday‑Thursday 4 pm‑8 pm and Saturday 12 pm‑8 pm; Monday 9 am‑1 pm, Tuesday 9 am‑4 pm, Wednesday 1 pm‑5 pm, Friday 9 am‑1 pm; Monday 9 am‑1 pm, Tuesday 12 pm‑5 pm, Thursday 9 am‑4 pm, Friday 12 pm‑4 pm.
