About the Position

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuroscience ICU – Wisconsin

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Evening/Night shifts, 12-hour shifts (1900-0730), every other weekend rotation with some holidays. 4x12 or Friday-Sunday block schedules accepted.

• Specialized patient population including stroke, traumatic brain injury, post-neurosurgery, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and spinal cord injury
• 2:1 patient ratio across all shifts with interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and physical therapy
• Advanced critical care interventions including ICP monitoring, EVD management, lumbar drains, and CereLink monitoring
• Epic charting system utilized facility-wide
• Collaborative team environment with nationally certified physicians and supportive nursing leadership

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Wisconsin or compact state)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in ICU setting within the last 3 years
• ICU experience required; neurosurgery experience strongly preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Must be willing to work with both ICU and IMC patient populations
• Experience with ICP monitoring or ventricular drains required
• Basic arrhythmia interpretation experience required; must pass telemetry exam prior to start
• Proficiency in critical care skills including ventilator management, vasoactive drip titration, arterial line management, EVD/lumbar drain care, and blood product administration
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Willingness to float as needed
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
