Registered Nurse – Clinical Decision Unit / Med-Surg Telemetry (Observation)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Night Shift | 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend | Float may be required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Clinical Decision Unit serving cardiac, CHF, COPD, stroke, chest pain, postoperative orthopedic, and other medical-surgical patient populations
• Perform cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Deliver stroke/CVA care and administer IV therapy, blood products, and oxygen therapy
• Respond to rapid-response and code situations as needed
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health record system
• Float to other units as required based on facility need

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Active West Virginia RN license or valid Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for submission
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• NIHSS certification required
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates between 75–100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with stroke/CVA patient management and rapid-response situations
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record system
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
