Senior Data Engineer

An insurance client out of the PNW is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the team on a contract basis. This person will be responsible for supporting the Databricks platform across the enterprise. Strong knowledge of Databricks jobs and workflows is critical for this role, also familiarity with Unity Catalog will be helpful as the team grows their AI governance practice. This person also needs to be strong with Python and/or PySpark. Azure Cloud experience, Azure Data Factory, and related modeling tool experience will be helpful to have. This person must be able to work across enterprise related technical projects, work well with related teams to gather requirements and execute within the sprint cycle, and have governance top of mind. Ability to work in Scrum / Agile and be timely with delivery and leading the team within sprints is critical for this role. The team works core PST hours.

Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years experience as a Senior Data Engineer
- Strong senior level experience with Azure Databricks workflows and jobs, Data Factory, and Azure Cloud
- Understanding of data modeling tools
- Experience with PySpark or Python
- Experience with RESTful APIs
- Strong problem solving skills, ability to work with team members and gather requirements to execute within the project scope and timeline


Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Backend development with Python frameworks
- Postgresql experience
