The Perinatal Safety Nurse is a registered professional nurse who demonstrates clinical and systems expertise through advanced education, knowledge, and skills in Obstetrics. Collaborates with the medical and nursing teams to promote a culture of patient safety and adherence to national clinical standards. Serves as a visible and recognized advocate for safety locally and in the network. Provides clinical advice and coordinates instruction to the nursing team, families, and other health care providers using advanced knowledge and skills. Ensures the safe delivery of patient care and supports the mission, vision, and goals of Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH). Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Master's degree in Nursing. Minimum of 3 years of acute care nursing in obstetrics. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and systems thinking skills. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: Minimum of 1 year as an instructor and experience with curriculum development, evaluative methods, and contact hour application. Background in nursing research. Professional certification in an area of clinical practice. Licenses and Certifications Required: Current valid NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license. Maintains American Heart Association Basic Life Support HCP Certification. Licenses and Certifications Preferred: Maintains Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
