About the Role Provide compassionate, skilled hospice care while enjoying a truly predictable schedule that supports your life outside of work. As a Hospice After Hours Registered Nurse, you will deliver skilled nursing care and emotional support to patients and families during overnight hours, responding to urgent needs and ensuring comfort, dignity, and peace at the end of life. This role is ideal for an experienced RN who thrives in autonomous practice and is confident making critical clinical decisions in real time. You will work a consistent 7-on / 7-off night rotation (5 pm–8 am), giving you half the year off while earning a full‑time salary with no additional on‑call requirements. All shifts begin and end from home, allowing you to fully disconnect during your time off. During your working nights, you will assess and manage urgent symptoms, provide skilled nursing interventions, and support families through crisis moments with clinical expertise and compassion. Working independently while coordinating closely with physicians and the hospice team, you will ensure continuity of care throughout the night and serve as a steady, reassuring presence during some of life's most vulnerable hours. Location Office Location: Carmel, IN Main Service Area: Carmel / Boone / Clinton / Hamilton / Hancock / Hendricks / Johnson / Madison / Marion / Morgan / Shelby This is a high travel position requiring daily travel within the service area to provide care in patients' homes, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes. Hours Only 26 weeks per year: 7 nights on call followed by 7 nights off. Every other Monday to Sunday, 5 pm to 8 am. Training: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, for the first 2–4 weeks. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing. Current State License as a Registered Nurse. Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in a clinical care setting. Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and valid automobile insurance coverage. Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Hospice or home health experience. Previous after‑hours or on‑call experience. Essential Skills and Competencies Demonstrates clinical nursing competencies in line with accepted standards of practice. Capable of assessing and responding appropriately to the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of patients, families, and caregivers in a variety of care settings, including homes and facilities. Exhibits strong interpersonal communication skills, emotional resilience, and the ability to support patients and families facing end‑of‑life issues. Manages multiple priorities, documentation requirements, and time‑sensitive responsibilities efficiently. Pay Range

$80,000—$85,000 USD
