Aerospace Plater

The Plater is responsible for performing all aspects of the plating process including preparation, masking, fixturing, plating operations, and teardown. This role includes processing hard Chrome, Thin Dense Chrome, Cadmium, Plating, Copper Plating, and Electroless Nickel for aerospace and industrial components. Responsibilities include preparing parts for plating including cleaning, masking, and setup; designing and building anodes, racks, fixtures, and tooling as required; performing I D (inner diameter) and OD (outer diameter) plating operations; setting up and operating plating tanks and equipment; monitoring plating parameters including time, temperature, and current density; applying masking techniques to protect critical surfaces; performing assembly and fixturing prior to plating; conducting teardown and post-process handling of parts; ensuring proper documentation and traveler completion; maintaining cleanliness and organization of work area; following all safety procedures and PPE requirements; and working closely with Quality and Production teams to meet customer requirements.

Experience in electroplating or related manufacturing processes preferred; ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications; hands-on experience with masking, fixturing, and tooling; understanding of plating chemistry and process controls (preferred); strong attention to detail and quality; ability to work in a fast-paced production environment; good communication and teamwork skills. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; and work in a chemical processing environment with appropriate PPE.
